Multivitamin Supplement - Perfect Balance
This multivitamin supplement is a blend of essential vitamins and minerals for delivering the nutrients the body needs for maintaining good health. Most cheap multivitamin supplements do not include all the ingredients needed for health. Perfect Balance is a multivitamin supplement formulated for your health in first place.
Vitamin A is essential for the white blood cells production and other important body functions. It is better to take Vitamin A from food, but sometimes we may not have enough. Large doses of vitamin A from supplements should be avoided. Evidences show that large amount of preformed Vitamin A from retinol may increase risk of bone fractures and may be responsible for some birth defects when taken during pregnancy. The maximum daily intake of vitamin A should be 10,000 IU, which is twice the current recommended daily level.
The recommended daily dose of Vitamin A is 2,300 IU for women and 3,000 IU for men, which is sufficient to support normal gene expression, immune function, and vision. Multivitamin supplements can supply as much as 5,000 IU a day of Vitamin A as retinol. This amount has been associated with adverse effects on bone health in older adults. For that reason, it recommended to take multivitamin supplements with no more than 2,500 IU of Vitamin A as retinol, or 5,000 IU of Vitamin A, of which at least 50% from beta-carotene, a natural source of vitamin A. High potency Vitamin A supplements should be avoided due to the risk of toxicity.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) - The bests sources of Vitamin c are berries and citrus fruits. Vitamin C maintains the body’s stores of collagen, a key protein for the connective tissues, ligaments, and bones. Vitamin C helps fighting bacterial infections and allergies. The recommended dose of Vitamin c is 1000mg daily. However, since this is a water soluble vitamin, it will be eliminated in the urine if not absorbed by the body. Therefore, for best absorption, Vitamin C should be split in two daily doses of 500 mg each.
Vitamin D – Vitamin d is found in dairy products, fish, and fish oil, but also produced by the body under sun exposure. Vitamin D is best utilized when taken with vitamin A. It regulates the use of calcium and phosphorus in the body and, therefore, is necessary for the bones and teeth. Because of this relationship between calcium and phosphorus, Vitamin D is valuable to maintain a stable nervous system, normal heart function and normal blood clotting. There are evidences that larger doses of vitamin D from supplements are helpful for prostate cancer prevention and treatment.
Continuous low-dose of vitamin E supplementation, (as part of a daily antioxidant pill), may reduce the risk of cancer. Studies suggest at least 400 IU of vitamin E per day. However, vitamin E as the vitamin C interferes with certain medicines, like Zocor, Prevachol, Lipitor or Crestor, reducing the medicine effect in as much as to 40%. If you are under the mentioned medicines, it is suggested to talk to your physician before taking additional vitamin E.
Folic Acid, Vitamin B6, and Vitamin B12
It is not easy to get 400 micrograms of folate from daily diet. Folic acid is added to most enriched breads, flour, cornmeal, pastas, rice, and other grain products, by determination of the FDA. Recently, it was found that Folic Acid, vitamins B6 and B12, may help fight heart diseases and some types of cancer.
The best natural sources of folic acid are vegetables and egg yolk. Folic acid is important for bodybuilders because it stimulates the production of HC1 (hydrochloric acid), which is needed to digest protein. Folate is essential for the formation of red blood cells. People who get higher than average amounts of folic acid from their diets or supplements have lower risks of colon cancer and breast cancer.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is found in eggs, beef, milk, brewers’ yeast, bran, wheat germ, liver, heart, and cabbage. Vitamin B6 is also a natural diuretic. Vitamin B6 ensures proper synthesis of amino acids and aids food assimilation; and prevents nerves and skin disorders.
Vitamin B12 (cobalomin) is found in liver, eggs, cheese, milk, beef and kidneys. Vitamin B12 helps in the formation of red blood cells and is essential for the metabolism of protein, fat, and carbohydrates.
Pantothenic Acid acts as a coenzyme to release energy from protein, fats and carbohydrates. It is also essential for the synthesis of fatty acids, cholesterol and steroids. Pantothenic acid stimulates the adrenal glands to producing hormones necessary for healthy skin and nerves. It is vital for the development of the central nervous system and the body's ability to withstand stress.
Zinc is an essential mineral for many functions in our body. Those who drink alcohol excessively are often deficient in this mineral. Zinc serves as a component of approximately 25 different enzymes required for the digestion and metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
Selenium is the minerals most found in many studies and references as helpful not only for prostate treatment but because selenium work together with other antioxidants.
Chromium works with other body substances to produce hormones, activating enzymes, and stabilizing nucleic acids.
